The Lily Pond is a good book with a good storyline. Not many books about WWII and the Nazis are about loved family members struggling. This makes a good storyline because the main character, Stephie, is even more worried about her mother and father than she would be if she were with them. Because the story is not told from Stephie’s point of view, you can get all the facts and details that Stephie couldn’t give you. The author also uses really good descriptive words like this: “Autumn fell over Goteborg like a wet gray blanket.” You can almost imagine the cold wet weather. I would recommend The Lily Pond to anyone looking for a good book.
