Home Is with Our Family
It is the mid 19th century and Maria Peter's life is changing. Rumor has it that the city is planning to knock down the homes of the free colored men and their families in the New York neighborhood where Maria lives. Though she is looking forward to her 13th birthday and being treated like an adult, she can't help worrying about what will become of her family if they are forced to leave their home.
Home Is with Our Family has many questions about friendship and doing the right thing, but I think the biggest question is in the title. Where is home? Maria is certain that home is her mother's general store and the cozy little home she shares with her parents and siblings, but by the end of the book she knows better. Home is with the people we love, no matter what happens. Led by her idol Sojourner Truth, a well-known abolitionist, Maria became a stronger, wiser person and you grow to like her more throughout the book
I recommend this book to anyone who likes historical fiction and a good read. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Fixing Delilah
Fixing Delilah Hannaford is a story about family. Delilah’s family has always had secrets her mother refuses to tell. That is until her grandmother dies and Delilah is dragged from her home in Pennsylvania up to Vermont. Coming home to the house of her childhood has a toll on her mother as well, who spends most of the days there figuring out how soon they can sell the house and she can get away from the memory of her sister Stephanie who died there when she was only nineteen. When Delilah finds her Aunt Stephanie’s diary she slowly comes to understand the importance of family, and that everything may not be what it seems. I would defiantly recommend this book, I absolutely loved it. The relationships between the family members was very real and at some points very sad, but that really only added to the charm of the book, and the message. That family is not something to throw away but to cherish, because you never know when they might leave you, or what kind of questions they will leave behind.Jenna, 14

Witch & Wizard: The Gift
Imagine that everything you love is banned.Your books, music, movies, art, imagine even your imagination at risk. Inhuman right? The novel begins by raising these questions. If you are Whit or his little sister Wisty in The Gift by James Patterson all of it is real. As Whit and Wisty run away from the new government because of their "gift" they get caught up in a page-turning mystery. If you liked Witch & Wizard you will definitely like this amazing fantasy tale!

Once in a Full Moon
Once in a Full Moon is about a girl named Celeste who falls in love with a boy name Brandon. It sounds like a normal love story, until Brandon turns into a werewolf. To tell the truth I did not like this book very much. I found the characters not very believable, and the writing not very good. It seemed to me as though it was kind of a rip off of Twilight. I would recommend it if you want a fun light read that has no meaning whatsoever.

The Lying Game
The Lying Game is a strange, unique, modern gem of a book. By the author of Pretty Little Liars, this book is probably for ages 11 and older, because of the confusing and slightly frightening aspects. The Lying Game is about a foster girl named Emma, who discovers that she has a long-lost twin sister. But when her sister Sutton is murdered, Emma finds a note that changes everything.

All You Get Is Me
I really enjoyed All You Get Is Me and I would recommend it to people who like realistic fiction. It is about a girl, Aurora, who lives on a farm in a small town. Though she was never truly happy she was content in her life until one day she witnesses an accident that changes everything. This book is about a romance, a trial, and small town living and I thought it was great.

See What I See
See What I See was really short, but captured my attention. I loved this book because of all the different character relationships. There are so many characters that have relationships with one another that are so complicated. This made the book really interesting. I also enjoyed this book because of the author’s descriptive writing style. Some of the sentences had a lot of adjectives and metaphors. This made the writing really beautiful, and fun to read. This book is also a little bit similar to a book I read called, And Then Everything Unraveled. If you have read and liked that book, you might like this book because the plot is sort of similar.

Alcatraz Versus the Shattered Lens
Alcatraz Versus the Shattered Lens, the fourth book in the hilarious Alcatraz Smendry series, is as funny and exciting as the rest of the series, if not better. This time, Alcatraz has to save a city from a librarian siege. While doing so, he meets his librarian mother again, and discovers a clue to the mystery of Smendry talents. The book is full of thrilling scenes and exciting twists. It is witty, and hilariously bizarre. It leaves us all hoping that there will be a fifth book soon.

Season of Secrets
Season of Secrets is an entertaining book that you won’t get bored with. Sally Nicholls is an extraordinary writer that writes about the hard truths of life. It has a mix of myths and real problems. I recommend this book to everyone.
