Dead Is a Battlefield

Dead Is a BattleField was a little (meaning a lot) obsessive. Meaning, couldn't-put-it-down obsessive. I was NOT looking forward to reading it, zombies aren't my thing, but the book was amazing. From the beginning, you felt a part of Jessica's world and a member of the strange town of Nightlock. 

Although this book sounds very gory, it isn't. Quite the opposite, it's almost a love story with the many obstacles including witches and zombies! If you liked Harry Potter,  Hunger Games, or Percy Jackson, you'll love this book.

Neversink

I really enjoyed Neversink. The main character, Lockley, a puffin, tries to save Neversink from the talons of Rozbell, literally. Lockley has two friends, Egbert and Ruby, as well as one mate named Lucy. I suggest this book to anyone who likes fantasy. On a scale of 1 to 10, I give this book a 100!  It's one of the best books I've ever read.

Farmer Boy Goes West

FarmerBoy Goes West was a wonderful book. I enjoyed it because in the Laura Ingalls Wilder series you never learn much about Almanzo. This book was all about Almanzo. Now if you don’t know who Almanzo is, he is Laura Ingalls’s husband. This book shows you what he did before he was in De Smet south Dakota. Like going to spring valley, getting another pony named Queen. It also shows his sorrow over having to leave Starlight his colt.

Catching Jordan

Catching Jordan is enthusiastic with real life situations. The book absorbed me, the reader of the story. The author starts the book off in a way that makes you want to read more. Catching Jordan is full of romance, drama, and finding out who you really are. It is a good book for readers 12 and above.

Titanic: Voices from Disaster

Titanic: Voices from the Disaster was a fascinating book. This book is all about how the Titanic sank, what it was like, and how the survivors managed. It was a very good book with lots of details. It was a sad but truthful book. You can also probably figure out that it is about people that survived the disaster.

The Lovely Shoes

In The Lovely Shoes by Susan Shreve, 14 year-old Franny suffers from a crippled leg. This book is about her struggle to fit in with the rest of the world as she begins to see how different she really is. Although the subject of the book sounds meaty, it is actually shallow. It is perfect for a beach book. If you like travel or reality books, you would enjoy Lovely Shoes.

Eight Keys

In Eight Keys by Suzanne Lafleur, orphan Elise is depressed. Before her dad died, he wrote a series of birthday letters. It’s her 12^th birthday and Elise discovers that this is the final letter. However it says that her Dad has left Elise something else as well. Elise journeys through sixth grade and finds hidden keys. She can now unlock rooms full of herself - past and present. As she continues to open doors, she re-examines her choices and thinks about the future. I loved this sweet and inspiring book about a girl who changes herself for the better.
