Perfect Escape

You should definitely read Perfect Escape. It is a fabulously written realistic fiction about a girl who takes her brother, who has OCD, on a road trip to find their long lost best friend. I would not tell you the ending, would not do that to you. So I guess you will just have to read it!

I loved this book, and would recommend it to anyone who likes the television show "Glee," with the guidance counselor who has Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). But I think that many people would like it, as I am a huge fiction / fantasy reader and thoroughly enjoyed this. Happy reading!

The Books of Elsewhere: Spellbound

The Books of Elsewhere: Spellbound is about a girl named Olive. Her friend Ruthford knows every witch / wizard has a spell book. So she ventures though the house to find it… until, one day in her dream she sees the place where it is. So “Bingo.” She knows where it is!

She has lots of adventures with the book and nothing is stopping her!
I recommend this book to kids who are 9 and up and who enjoy magic.

Shadowcry

Shadowcry is a fast-paced fantasy about a girl who realizes she has special powers. Unfortunately for her, people who have special powers are hunted down and killed or enslaved by the leaders of her country. This leaves her no option but to go into hiding and form alliances with people from the underworld. I found this book fun to read but confusing because the author had to make up a whole new world and then explain it to us. I would recommend it to people who like fantasy.

Frankie Pickle and the Mathematical Menace

Frankie Pickle and the Mathematical Menace is awesome! I read it about 4 times. It's about a small boy with a big imagination. He has two sisters; a little sister named Lucy and a big sister named Piper. He also has a dog named Argyle. Frankie doesn't think he's studying very much because he doesn't really have time when he's doing all the fun things he does with his family, but math is everywhere, so he's actually studying and having fun at the same time! His dad is good at baking and they baked a new kind of muffin. They had to measure ingredients and divide the batter equally so that all the muffins would be the same size. That's math! The comic parts of the book are really good.

Lost Voices

I like Lost Voices because it really explains feeligns. Tehre isn't a single part of the book that is hpapy. Mermaids luring people to their death is a common idea, but people generally don't think abou t the mermaids themselves, or their purposes. Reading the book makes me feel as if I was there, swimming alongside Luce, watching everything. That feeling helps me to understand the characters very well. I'd recommend this book to people who enjoy sad and powerful stories.

My Forever Friends: Friends for Keeps

MyForever Friends is about a group of friends who have a few fights over very small things, including how to decorate a flyer.

I liked this book because in the middle I was worried that the girls would never become friends again, but they did. I also liked this book because the fights seemed really realistic. I liked it so much that I almost recommended it to one of my friends but then I remembered that it wasn't in the bookstores yet. And I liked many other things!!!!!

There was basically nothing that I didn't like about this book. I only couldn't quite keep track of the characters in the beginning, but after one chapter I could.

Nerd Girls: The Rise of the Dorkasaurus

Nerd Girls is about three “Nerd Girls” who are tired of being bossed around by the “ThreePees,” the three pretty, perfect, and popular girls who basically rule the eighth grade. The The Nerd Girls, Maureen, Barbara, and Alice, believe that if they win their school’s talent show, they might gain some respect.

The story about nerds who want to beat some popular girls somehow is very typical, but the author did a good job of creating fun and quirky characters that made the story a bit different. I would recommend this book to anyone who has enjoyed reading books like Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Dork Diaries.
