Geeks, Girls, and Secret Identities

Geeks, Girls, and Secret Identities is a wonderful book. It reads like a comic book, but without many pictures. Vincent and his pals live in Copperplate City where Captain Stupendous fights crime. During a superheroic battle with a robot, Captain Stupendous gets hurt (gasp!). Everybody worries about him. When Vincent becomes involved with Captain Stupendous' fate, his mom gets kidnapped and things go downhill from there. What happens next? Read the book to find out. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys science fiction and super hero adventures.

Riley Mack and the Other Known Troublemakers

In Riley Mack and theOther Known Troublemakers, Riley Mack is a kid who lives with his mom while his dad is in Iraq.  When his best friend's pet dog goes missing, Riley and his gang try to figure out where he's gone.  This book shows the importance of family and friends in solving the mystery. There were some funny scenes but I wouldn't call it a comedy.  I like how the author focuses on different characters in different chapters. The plot is complicated as one mystery leads to another, but it all comes together in the end.

Zeke Bartholomew: Superspy!

In Zeke Bartholomew: Superspy! it started out as a normal day, but when he was mistaken for a spy his life changed forever. Zeke Bartholomew meets Sparrow, a spy, and goes on a wacky adventure. I like how the author (Jason Pinter) made Zeke a brilliant inventor. His lab is in the sewer and he made some zany inventions that would prove useful. I would definitely recommend this book to my friends.

The Detention Club

I liked The Detention Club for lots of different reasons.  First of all, there is a science fair coming up and on the first day that Peter starts to brainstorm he makes up about 20 wacky ideas (none of them work).  Second, he ends up making friends with the school bullies at detention and helps the other kids do the same.  All of these events lead up to a shocking conclusion. This book is a fun read and there was nothing I did not like about it.
