Origin

In Origin, Pia is immortal, and she grew up in a secret compound in the rainforest with a group of scientists who are creating an immortal race. Pia's goal in life is to learn the secret to her immortality, which the scientists will tell her when she is old enough to run the experiment. But that all changes when she escapes and meet Eio, a boy who lives in a nearby village. She continues to sneaks out and he teaches her about the outside world. Together, they learn the real reason behind the experiment, and why it might not be as good as it seems.

The Crown of Embers

The Crown of Embers was amazing, even better then the first book! Elisa, the Bearers has won the war, but now her kingdom is in shambles. Elisa believes that the only solution is to find the zafira, a magical place where she'll learn sorcery. The only problem is that no one who's gone has ever returned. I love this book and would recommend it to fans of Graceling.

What's Left of Me

What’s Left of Me was an astounding book. It tells the story of Addie and Eva, two girls who are locked into one body. The book takes place in a society where everyone has two souls at the beginning of their life, but usually by the time they’re ten they’ve “settled” (which means one soul has taken complete control and the other has faded away).

Anyone who hasn’t settled by the time they’re ten is institutionalized because they’re supposedly a danger to society. Addie and Eva are older than ten, and they secretly still haven’t settled. The characters are very distinct without being over-described. Addie and Eva are clearly different people even though they share a body. The plot moves quickly but the author still takes time to reflect and talk about memories. The story is never confusing, but it still is filled with mystery. I loved this book, and if you liked The Golden Compass or If I Stay, I’m sure you will too.

False Memory

False Memory was a great book! Miranda wakes up on a park bench with no memory. She then releases a mysterious energy that makes everyone panic, except a boy named Peter. Deciding to trust him, she learns she is part of a group of teens, genetically altered to become weapons. Miranda has to readjust to her old life, but finds it difficult, especially with Noah, her boyfriend that she doesn't remember. Soon Miranda discovers an evil secret, the real reason behind everything.

Don't Turn Around

Don't Turn Around was one of the best books I've ever read! It's about Noa, a teenage hacker who wakes up in a lab with no idea how she got there, and Peter, another hacker whose house was broken into and his laptop stolen immediately after he hacked into some files. Both of them are trying to find out what's happening to them and why they're involved. This book was amazing! It was filled with lots of action and suspense and every chapter left me hanging. I would definitely recommend it!

The Forsaken

The Forsaken is set in the future, where the U.S., Canada, and Mexico have joined together to create the UNA. Sixteen-year-olds all have to take a test to see if they'll become criminals. Those children are sent to a mysterious island called the Wheel. Alenna hasn't trusted the government since they took away her parents, but she would never suspect that she would fail the test. On the Wheel where she meets Liam, a boy who tells her that the government has many secrets, and the only way to survive is to escape. This book was amazing! It was very suspenseful and I would definitely recommend it.
