The Shattering

TheShattering is now one of my favorite books. It had a very interesting plot, making it impossible to put down and rendering me on the edge of my seat. There were parts that were very relaxed and cheerful, heart breaking and depressing, and then suspenseful and intense. Also, there were several unpredictable twists scattered in the story, causing me think about certain details more.

I loved the characters, Keri, Janna, and Sione, and how they were so different in their personalities and lifestyles. Even though they are opposites, they had a common ground, the deaths of their older brothers.

The only complaint I have is the book could have gone without all the swearing, but sometimes it did fit the situations. I would recommend The Shattering to anyone who is interested in books involving murders, love, action, and magic.

The Name of the Star

The book that I read was called Name Of The Star, and I really loved it! I liked the fact that you felt like you there in Rory's (main character) shoes the whole time, and it felt very real! I would definitely recommend this book to my friends. But, I have to say, it can get a little scary at times! I also want to say this is one of my top five favorite books of all time because it is so realistic and intriguing! I am waiting with baited breath hoping that Maureen Johnson will write a sequel soon! I am getting antsy...

Otherworld Chronicles: The Invisible Tower

The Invisible Tower was a very good book, besides the fact that it was a bit confusing. The other downside was that the ending was a bit of a cliffhanger, so readers have to wait for the next book in the Otherworld Chronicles series to find out what happens. In this book, Artie Kingfisher finds out that he is somewhat a reincarnation of the great King Arthur. Artie and his sister Kay also battle monsters and meet many mythical creatures form the Otherworld, such as Tom Thumb and Merlin, who is trapped in an invisible tower.

Love and Leftovers

Love & Leftovers tells the story of a teenager who has to act like "the mom" in her family. When Marcie moves to a new state on the opposite coast of the country because her parents are getting divorced, she meets new people and has to adjust her life. She goes through the troubles that haunt teens all over but with more of a struggle. She misses her friends and family back home while still trying to have a life in her new home. The book as a whole captivates you and helps you understand more about your own life. It tells you that it's okay to be confused and ask for help when you need it.

Every Other Day

Wow! Every Other Day has all my favorite things in a book - supernatural beings, murders, and smart asses. Every other day Kali is something unique and special, a demon slayer. When she isn't a demon slayer, she's normal. Every Other Day is an action-packed book with amazing characters and a world full of secrets.

Outlaw

This wonderful thriller, Outlaw, is about Jake Knight, a 15-year-old adventurer, who gets thrown out of boarding school. To his luck he gets to do what he always loves, join his family under the exciting African sun. But sadly, Jake's trip doesn't turn out to be all that he expected...

Outlaw is a book about friendship, trust, and adventure. It is filled with suspense, laughter, and lots of fun. I definitely recommend this book to anyone and everyone!!!

Nightspell

NightSpell sounds interesting, but once I picked it up a couple of months ago, I simply could not finish it. The plot did not make any sense to me, and the characterization wasn''t very strong in my opinion. However, this book is good for younger children who would like to read a fantasy book, but for me, as a teenager reading this book, it seemed too shallow.
