Nanny Piggins and the Wicked Plan is quite creative. It's about a family with a nanny pig. Nanny Pig loves chocolate and isn't like a regular nanny. This is the first time she has been a nanny and has to ask the kids what she needs to do. Nanny Piggins has recently left the circus and her job of shooting out of a cannon. She has her own way of fixing things that most nannies would disagree with. Nanny Piggins is a crazy, yet loving, nanny.

Dear Blue Sky

When Cassie’s brother Sef, who is the glue to their family, leaves for the war in Iraq, the family begins to fall apart. Cassie’s view of the world begins to change for the better when fate leads her to the blog written by Blue Sky, an Iraqi girl Cassie’s age, whose own life is collapsing at the mercy of the war in Iraq. 

What I liked most about Dear Blue Sky was the correspondence between Cassie and Blue Sky. Through their emails they were able to support each other even though they live in different worlds. I would recommend this book to people ready to read about how war can affect people’s lives.

Postcards from Pismo

How would you like being pen pals with an American solider serving in Afghanistan? In Postcards From Pismo, Felix, a ten-year-old boy, writes a letter to a solider for a class project and hopes he will write back. When Marcus writes back, Felix is really excited. I liked this book and couldn't put it down. Also, I thought is was cool how the whole story was written in letters, emails, and postcards.

The Genius Files: Never Say Genius

I loved The Genius Files: Never Say Genius. It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time I was reading it. I would recommend this book because it is a cool and fun mystery with a lot of puzzles. I would suggest reading the first book (The Genius Files: Mission Unstoppable) because it would be confusing if you didn't. The only thing I didn't like about this book is that it was a bit repetitive in the beginning.

A Year Without Autumn

I loved A Year without Autumn. I would recommend this book to my friends. It is so good I couldn't put it down. I really like the part where she first travels in time because it is so mysterious. It's cool how she sees herself four years into the future. I also like the part of the book that focuses on friendship.

The Emerald Casket

I would recommend The Emerald Casket to my friends because it is a really good mystery and I couldn't put it down. I would recommend reading this author's first book (Billionaire's Curse) first. There are a lot of characters and key objects the are introduced in the first book that are important to understand in The Emerald Casket. The author added a lot of humor and suspense which I enjoyed.

The Absolute Value of Mike

I liked The Absolute Value of Mike. The book is about about a boy who went to his aunt and uncle’s house thinking that he could do nothing, and came back and changed more than one person’s life. The only character in the book that I didn’t like was Poppy. I thought that he shouldn't have acted so mean to everyone even though his son just died. I would recommend this book to my friends because it was very funny. My favorite character was Past, he was such a good friend to everyone. I would recommend this book to my friends because it has a very surprising ending.

The Detention Club

I liked the book The Detention Club.  I thought it had a very unexpected ending.   

I would recommend this book to my friends. I thought that it was very good because it showed a lot of different relationships Peter had with each supporting character, including his best friend Drew.  I would also recommend it to my friends because I thought it had a very good lesson in it, not everyone is who you think they are.  

If someone was to read the book, I think that they should know that every main character turns out differently by the end of the book.  The characters in the book all change their impressions about the other characters.
