The Rise of Nine

The Rise of Nine is the third installment in the Lorien Legacies series. It was very similar to the two previous books (I Am Number Four and The Power of Six), with lots of adventure, unexpected surprises, and suspenseful fight scenes that kept me on the edge of my seat. The book is told from three different points of views, making the plot confusing at times, but unique and interesting. Overall I loved the book and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an amazing quick read (should finish other two books first).

The Rise of Nine

After reading I Am Number Four and The Power of Six (which I strongly recommend) I was anxiously awaiting the next book in this amazing series to be released. I have to say it exceeded all of my expectations, I was very impressed by boldness of the new characters and how the old ones like John and Sarah have changed.
I hope that other people who read this will enjoy it as much as I have.

Throne of Glass

Throne of Glass contains all the qualities of a typical teen novel: love, actions, fantasy, and mystery. It tells the story of Celaena Sardothien, a notorious assassin serving time in the salt mills of Endovier. One day, she is presented an offer by the Prince of Adarlan: her freedom. Now the only thing standing in her way is 23 other competitors, all fighting in hopes of becoming the King of Adarlan’s champion. 

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. There was never a dull moment, and the competition scenes delivered exactly what I envisioned. Aside from this, there were some confusing aspects (the setting and the dreams) and it was too predictable at times (the love triangle forming and who would be the last two contenders left). I would recommend this book to fans of The Hunger Games or anyone who likes fantasy/love/mystery/action type books.

The Fire Chronicle

Siblings Kate, Michael, and Emma are the children destined to retrieve the three Books of Beginning. Kate uses the time traveling atlas she found (read The Emerald Atlas for more) and gets stuck in New York City, 1899. Now Michael has to find The Fire Chronicle without Kate. But Michael and Emma are getting chased by their enemies, slowing down their progress...

My favorite part about this book is when Michael and Emma are facing the same enemy in the present that Kate is facing in the past. It makes me feel like the bad guy is so powerful, he won't leave anyone alone! I would recommend this page-turning sequel to anyone who likes to read fantasy adventures.

Defiance

Defiance was nothing out of the ordinary. The plot was not groundbreaking, and character development was linear, and everything was predictable. That being said, I found that I really did enjoy the book. It was a nice beach read, with a romance and lots of action. So while I can't say I recommend it, I will say its a fun read for someone not looking for something challenging.

False Memory

False Memory was a great book! Miranda wakes up on a park bench with no memory. She then releases a mysterious energy that makes everyone panic, except a boy named Peter. Deciding to trust him, she learns she is part of a group of teens, genetically altered to become weapons. Miranda has to readjust to her old life, but finds it difficult, especially with Noah, her boyfriend that she doesn't remember. Soon Miranda discovers an evil secret, the real reason behind everything.

Hunter Moran Saves the Universe

Hunter Moran Saves the Universe is about a boy named Hunter and his twin Zack who have to sneak away from their 4 siblings and their parents to save their town from destruction. They find a piece of paper that says REVENGE at Vinny's Vegetables dump, and a phone number with a missing digit on the other side.  After they figure out the phone number, they call and find out that the dentist is planning  to bomb the town.  So, it's up to Hunter and Zack to disable the bomb before it blows up.  This book is funny and has a twist to it, and is a great book to read.

Don't Turn Around

I really enjoyed Don't Turn Around. It's a page-turner that you can barley put down, and I read it in about 3 hours. I would recommend it to people who like science fiction, because even though this book isn't advertised as being that genre, it really is. Also, keep in mind that this book is about computer hackers, so at some points it does get a little intense with the detail, most of which I skimmed over. However, if you are into computers then I think this book would be even better.
