Survivors: The Empty City

I liked The Empty City because it had the action and adventure of the Warriors series and I think it was a good idea to put dogs instead of cats this time. The dogs in this book are survivors of an earthquake and have to live in the wild and try to survive. If you liked the Warriors series then I think you will like this series as well. I think Erin Hunter has done a great job with the Warriors series so far and I think she did a great job with this book and will do a great job with the rest of the series.

Herbert's Wormhole: The Rise and Fall of el Solo Libre

Herbert's Wormhole: The Rise and Fall of el Solo Libre is the sequel to Herbert's Wormhole, a book about three kids named Alex, Herbert, and Sammi, who create a wormhole in a playground slide that sends them into the future. While there, they don't save the planet from an alien named GOR-DON, but Alex thinks they did because he loses that memory and a video game called AlienSlayer 3D gets fused in its place. In this installment, Alex, thinking that he saved the planet once and can do it again, gets some even meaner aliens to try to destroy Earth. With nobody that knows how to save the world, will Earth survive? This was a really good book and I would recommend it to anyone who likes comedy or sci-fi.

Neversink

Neversink is a rather strange book. It is about an auk named Lockley J. Puffin and his friends, Egbert (a walrus) and Ruby (a hummingbird). They have to try and save their island from a group of evil owls that want to take all of their food. I think that the book should either be funny or dark, not a mixture of both, like it is. For example, various birds get killed, but it's otherwise a very funny book.

Robbie Forester and the Outlaws of Sherwood Street

Robbie Forester and the Outlaws of Sherwood St. was a really good book. It is about a middle school girl named Robbie Forester, who finds an unlikely group of friends when she discovers a bracelet that gives them magic powers that are activated by injustice. Their group is comprised of Robbie; Silas, a computer genius; Tut-tut, an African kid with a stutter; and Ashanti, a girl on Robbie's basketball team. I would recommend this book to anyone who liked Eoin Colfer's Half Moon Investigations.
