I have read almost all of Andrew Clements' books and I have loved all of them until now, but I have to say that I'm disappointed in this series so far. The plot is okay, but it was hard to understand or care about why the main characters were even bothering to solve the mystery. Strangely the only "bad guy" is the school janitor who is a spy for tearing down the school. He really doesn't appear mean let alone evil until the last five pages. Overall, I thought Fear Itself was a below average book. Hopefully the next one in the series will be a lot better.
