When Shalini’s father gets a job in L.A., she is torn from the life she had in India. She misses her boyfriend Vikram whom she was betrothed to at age three. School in America is so different and she doesn’t know anyone. Meanwhile her mother falls into depression and Shalini has to do all of the house work. I really enjoyed Lovetorn. I thought that it was appealing partly because I find arranged marriages to be interesting and also it was well written.
