The Dead is about how children would react if an apocalyptic disease was to arrive and all grownups, not just their parents, were not actually their parents, but were in fact the apocalypse. The idea is fascinating. I have read many novels about zombie attacks, but none with the idea that the parents would try to eat their children. It is disturbing and insightful into the adolescent idea of the worst thing that could ever happen to the world.
