Cannons at Dawn is a great book. It plays in 1779, during the Revolutionary war. When a fire destroys Abby's home, the must go and follow the Army along with other wives and children. They make many new friends, like to runaway slaves. But the winter is cold, and the problems of war are always present. Often my family or friends wonder where I get all the information. Read the Dear America books and you'll know!
