Abandon

Abandon, by Meg Cabot, gives the reader a new perspective on the myth of Hades and Persephone. Enter John Hayden, the "Hades" part of the myth. He rules the Underworld, a place where all the dead people go. Our heroine, Pierre, doesn't have much in common with John, until she dies herself. Once in the Underworld, she somehow cheats death . . . and comes back to life. But life will never be the same, since John wants to bring her back to the Underworld. Will she go?

Abandon was a quick read for me, since I love reading fantasy. I'd recommend this book to people who like fantasy or if someone just wants a quick read. Abandon also incorporates elements of realistic fiction, such as school, so while reading this book, a person can relate to it.
