The Beginning ofAfter is a book about a teenage girl coping with the after-effects of a car accident that killed her brother and parents. I liked this book because while it dealt with a very difficult topic, the tone was light and the book didn’t have a particularly depressing feel. However, I was disappointed by how downplayed the death of the main character’s younger brother was, as the book focused a lot on what it’s like to lose your parents. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes young adult books that are a little more serious.
