Insurgent

If you liked Divergent, you should read the sequel, Insurgent. Tris’ adventures continue with action that keeps you from putting down the book until you’ve finished. Insurgent is the second book in the trilogy, and I suggest that you start at the beginning of the series so you understand the book better. I really liked this book and I recommend it to fans of  The Hunger Games.

Aliens on Vacation

Aliens on Vacation is hilarious and definitely puts a spin on our theory of what aliens are like by portraying aliens as inter-galactic tourists instead of vicious creatures who want to murder us! The aliens in this book seem more like E.T. than our more recent ideas. I also like this book for how witty it is with Scrub meeting all different kinds of aliens and him and Amy having a relationship.

Juniper Berry

Juniper Berry is about a lonely girl whose parents are very famous actors. They used to have so much fun together as a family, but lately they have been ignoring her. She meets a strange boy outside who also deals with the same problem. Together they find a mysterious underworld that has to do with their parents. Will they ever change them back to normal? I recommend this book to other readers because it really drags you into the story. I could never put it down!!!

Invisible Inkling

Invisible Inkling is a book about a bandapat. A bandapat is a naturally invisible creature that needs to eat squash. A boy named Hank discovers him in his family's ice cream store in New York City. They have lots of adventures like when Inkling tries to beat up Hank's bully. I think kids around 7 or 8 will really like this book because it is funny and interesting.

The Silver Bowl, by Diane Stanley, author of Saving Sky and Bella At Midnight, is a wonderful fairy tale. Molly is a serving girl with a crazy mother, a mysterious necklace, and a curious heritage, who must use all her strength and cunning to save the royal line from a terrible fate. This book is filled with adventure as well as a curse, a handsome prince, and a magic silver bowl. It will keep readers laughing and they simply won’t want to put it down.

Smells Like Treasure

I really loved Smells Like Treasure.  I also read the prequel Smells Like Dog.  I thought that that one was okay, but Smells Like Treasure was way more exciting.  Homer and Dog are preparing to become the newest team in the Society of Legends, Objects, Secrets and Treasures.  But then they find out that one of the current members of the Society does not want Homer to join.  Will Homer be able to get into the Society even if that one member doesn’t want him to join?  I would definitely recommend this to book to anyone who loves dogs and/or read the first book.  Even if you were not impressed by its prequel, I still encourage you to read Smells Like Treasure.
