The Dead

In Charlie Higson’s The Dead, the World has just changed drastically for the worse. Anyone over 16 gets the disease and becomes one of them. The different groups of kids have different names for them, the mothers and fathers, the strangers, or simply the zombies. The book centers around three friends, Ed, Jack and Bam, who are caught in the middle of the horrifying spectacle going on around them and how they cope in their various attempts survive. This action-packed thrill ride is a must-read.

The Summer Before Boys

The Summer Before Boys is a story about complicated friendships. Julia and Emma are best friends, but when Julia meets Michael, their friendship slowly falls apart, and Julia changes both as a person, and as a friend. Julia’s mother serves as a nurse in the Vietnam War and Julia is desperate for the end of the summer when she will return. This story is charming and romantic, and definitely worth reading.

Trial by Fire

Trial by fire is a classic teen werewolf drama. It is not entirely unlike other werewolf/vampire stories, but it does have it's own little twist of events that are intriguing and original, for example the idea of a human girl being an alpha, or the background stories of some members of her pack. I did enjoy reading this book.

Bryn is a human girl but the alpha of a werewolf pack. She has a complicated relationship with 2 of the weres in her pack. Suddenly an abused were shows up on her doorstep from one of the enemy packs asking for protection even though it is not an easy request to fulfill. Due to this injured were's arrival, Bryn's pack is faced with many threats and problems to solve.

Dark Souls

Dark Souls is a fast-paced mystery set in York, England and I greatly enjoyed it. The one thing I would have to say is the back of the book is greatly misleading, this is not a romance novel. It is a fun mystery that is very fast-paced. I read it in about 2 hours so it is definitely a quick read but I found that once I started I simply could not stop.

Frankie Pickle and the Mathematical Menace

Frankie Pickle and the Mathematical Menace is awesome! I read it about 4 times. It's about a small boy with a big imagination. He has two sisters; a little sister named Lucy and a big sister named Piper. He also has a dog named Argyle. Frankie doesn't think he's studying very much because he doesn't really have time when he's doing all the fun things he does with his family, but math is everywhere, so he's actually studying and having fun at the same time! His dad is good at baking and they baked a new kind of muffin. They had to measure ingredients and divide the batter equally so that all the muffins would be the same size. That's math! The comic parts of the book are really good.

Lost Voices

I like Lost Voices because it really explains feeligns. Tehre isn't a single part of the book that is hpapy. Mermaids luring people to their death is a common idea, but people generally don't think abou t the mermaids themselves, or their purposes. Reading the book makes me feel as if I was there, swimming alongside Luce, watching everything. That feeling helps me to understand the characters very well. I'd recommend this book to people who enjoy sad and powerful stories.

My Forever Friends: Friends for Keeps

MyForever Friends is about a group of friends who have a few fights over very small things, including how to decorate a flyer.

I liked this book because in the middle I was worried that the girls would never become friends again, but they did. I also liked this book because the fights seemed really realistic. I liked it so much that I almost recommended it to one of my friends but then I remembered that it wasn't in the bookstores yet. And I liked many other things!!!!!

There was basically nothing that I didn't like about this book. I only couldn't quite keep track of the characters in the beginning, but after one chapter I could.
